There can be no question that the legal industry is in the midst of significant change. The legal profession has moved away from traditional practices to accommodate changes in technology, globalization, and client expectation and demand. As legal practice evolves, so too must the businesses and organizations that serve the profession. We have entered a phase where disruption is not only possible, but inevitable and necessary. We, as an Association have an obligation to play a dynamic role in bringing to bear the innovations that are so desperately needed to support attorneys, both of the present and of the future.
We have recognized that over time the needs of our members have evolved dramatically and to meet those needs we have developed this highly innovative offering, unlike anything offered by other bar associations in the country. The LawHUB comes from a shared vision between The New York State Bar Association and USI Affinity to lead a transformation that integrates the technology of tomorrow with time-honored best practices. Together we intend to create relationships with attorneys that are transformational rather than merely transactional.
NYSBA partnered with national legal practice management experts CuroLegal to design and develop the platform, as well as best in breed technology partners including Clio, FastCase and LawPay. By creating a customized experience tailored to each user’s individual needs we hope to change the way in which lawyers run their law practices and to provide lawyers with new technology that facilitates interaction with clients, referral partners and their bar association. We hope you will join us in this endeavor and let us help you take your law practice to the next level.
Works on many platforms!
NYSBA has brought some of the best legal technology software platforms together in the LawHub. The initial release of the Hub will allow you to conduct a search in Fastcase, add time and matters into Clio, work within your Google or Outlook 365 Calendar, and check your latest payments on LawPay. NYSBA will continue regularly rolling out more thirdparty integrations that are integral in the lives and work of its members.
Fastcase is the leading next-generation legal research service that puts a comprehensive national law library and smarter and more powerful searching, sorting, and visualization tools at your fingertips. NYSBA members receive free and unlimited access to certain libraries and a discount on access to the full Fastcase library. NYSBA’s newly admitted attorney members get free access to the full Fastcase research libraries for your first two years after you are admitted.
Clio is the most comprehensive, yet easy-to-use cloud-based law practice management software. Clio offers all you need to run a law practice from intake to invoice, with powerful features to manage cases, clients, documents, bills, appointments, time-tracking, reporting, and accounting.
Clio is the exclusive cloud-based practice management system of the New York State Bar Association. Lawyers use Clio to organize their cases, invoice clients, track time, and access their documents. Working on Mac and PC, and through iPhone, iPad, and Android apps, lawyers can easily access and manage their practice from any location and on any device.
LawPay offers credit card processing designed for the unique needs of attorneys and has earned the approval of the American Bar Association. LawPay is designed to correctly separate earned and unearned fees to avoid commingling funds when accepting credit card payments. More importantly, LawPay contractually protects your client funds by restricting the ability of any third-party from debiting monies from a Trust or IOLTA account. LawPay works with over 90 bar associations across the country, including the American Bar Association, to ensure its program is up-to-date and in compliance.
Google Apps offers enterprise-class calendaring with the ease of Google’s cloud-based user experience.
Office 365 is Microsoft’s cloud-based office productivity software. LawHUB allows you to connect your Office 365 Calendar to provide access to your appointments.
